ANGÉLICA FUENTES TÉLLEZ
General Manager, Businesswoman, and Community Leader
Angélica Fuentes Téllez is General Manager of Grupo Omnilife, one of the top 200 companies in Mexico. Grupo Omnilife, a consortium of nutritional products companies with a presence in over twenty countries, also supports soccer teams in Mexico, Costa Rica and the U.S. Ms. Fuentes is also a member of the board of directors of northern Mexico’s leading energy firm Grupo Imperial Corporativo--founded by her grandfather--where she served as company president for 20 years. Since 1999, Ms. Fuentes has represented Mexico at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), holding the role of Chairwoman (2002-2004). She has also held consecutive chairwomanships at the Mexican Association of Natural Gas (1996-2000). Ms. Fuentes has been a leader in her community in the state of Chihuahua where she has been involved with various NGO’s and business and philanthropic organizations. She has supported the work of Fundación Ponte Viva which helps inform and protect women in Ciudad Juárez, and she is a founding member of Plan Estratégico de Juárez which seeks to improve the image of the area, as well as its cultural, social and economic conditions. She is also a founding member of Fundación Comunitaria Frontera Norte, and a board member of Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Ciudad Juárez, as well as Fundación del Empresariado Chihuahense. She holds a degree in Finance from the University of Texas and has been actively involved in business since she was eleven years old.
