ERIC PARRADO

Economist

Eric Parrado is the International Finance Coordinator for Chile’s Ministry of Finance. He joined the Ministry in September 2007. From 2005 to 2007, he was a senior economist in the Financial Stability Division of the Central Bank of Chile and a consultant for the International Monetary Fund (IMF). As a consultant to the IMF he provided advisory services to the Central Banks of Bolivia, China, Guatemala and Kenya. From 2000 to 2004, he was an economist for the IMF in Washington, D.C., dealing with matters related to monetary policy and financial stability, in addition to being a member of different technical assistance missions to America, Europe and Asia. 

Mr. Parrado has also authored numerous research articles on monetary policy, international finance, and financial stability issues. In 2006, Mr. Parrado was selected by newspaper El Mercurio (Chile) as one of Chile's most important leaders under the age of 35. In 2008, he was named by Poder Magazine (Chile) as one of the country's leaders in emerging markets (sovereign wealth funds). Mr. Parrado holds a PhD and a Master of Arts in Economics from New York University, and a Bachelor in Economics from the University of Chile.
