NEW GENERATION LEADERSHIP FORUM
Today’s rapidly evolving world needs our immediate attention and awareness now more than ever before. Succeeding as individuals will require a mutual understanding that our actions have direct effect on entire populations. With a global crisis knocking on our doors, we are living witnesses of a planet surviving in an emergency room – poverty levels, environmental destruction, economic instability and religious extremism have reached record-high levels. Twenty-first century problems demand twenty-first century solutions. Young leaders, the world is in your hands, it is time to come together and implement contemporary strategies.
The New Generation Leadership Forum (NGF) is an organization co-sponsored by the Inter- American Development Bank (IADB) and the Americas Business Council, created to bring together twenty of the most innovative leaders - under the age of forty – with the goal of tackling today’s pressing political, environmental, religious and economic issues.
NGF’s and the IADB’s aim is to unite young leaders from various fields of expertise and connect them with government and business leaders at the IADB’s yearly annual meeting. In addition to the Forum’s annual meeting, NGF members will be invited to a number of events organized periodically by the Americas Business Council, bringing together some of the world’s leading academics, journalists, entertainers, businessmen and political figures.
MEDELLÍN 2009
The inaugural NGF will take place on March 27-31, 2009 in Medellín, Colombia. The goal of this year’s meeting is twofold: It will offer NGF members a chance to meet and interact with each other, share ideas and build friendships and relations with like-minded individuals.
The NGF will also bring participants face to face with today’s key businessmen and policy-makers to discuss the most pressing issues affecting the hemisphere, and how each young leader can make a difference in reshaping and redefining the region.
NGF takes into account how relationships between young minds and world leaders can foster innovative solutions, giving birth to fresh ideas that will shape and redefine policy. NGF 2009 will offer the handpicked young leaders an opportunity to meet and build a network that nurtures powerful and long-lasting partnerships.
