NICOLÁs E. PETREANU

CEO, Endriven/Gas Meridional

Nicolás E. Petreanu is co-founder and CEO of Endriven/Gas Meridional, a mid-sized regional independent energy company focused on natural gas and energy transformation. As the firm’s executive he focuses on business development, finance, risk and general management. Mr. Petreanu is also a co-founder and Chairman of C3Plus a natural gas midstream operation, and co-founder and Director of Explora Biofuels, a BioDiesel producer. Prior to founding Endriven, Mr. Petreanu founded and directed BtoBen.com, an entity that developed and operated a network of “business-to-business” companies in Latin America which was later acquired by Banco Santender. At BtoBen, he structured and negotiated several rounds of financing totaling over $45 million. Before moving to Buenos Aires, he directed J.P. Morgan’s Southern Cone derivatives group in New York City. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan he worked as an associate with the Fixed Income group at Goldman Sachs & Co. While a visiting scientist at the Schlumberger-Doll Research in Connecticut, he also studied oil prospecting. Mr. Petreanu is a professional electrical engineer who graduated from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, and holds masters degrees in Applied Mathematics and Electrical Engineering from Brown University. He was a researcher at Universidad de Buenos Aires and at Brown University’s Laboratory of the Engineering of Man-Machine Systems. He has also taught science and finance at Columbia University, Brown University and the Universidad de Buenos Aires, and has been a lecturer at international conferences on risk measurement and management.
